Make sure that you’ve correctly connected the scanner or multifunction printer with scanning capabilities to your computer, pexmark that the device is powered on. Update or reinstall the driver if required and try again. As per the description, you are having issues with Scanning.
As a work-around I then save the scan as a PDF file and pro40000 it to the fax form and complete the faxing. This site in other languages x.
I have reinstalled the drivers and checked for any updates and there are none. Thanks for marking this as the answer. When I select ” Scan ” from this same menu the scan of the same document completes without any problem.

From your reply Jensen P, I am wondering if you have fully understood the issue.
In reply to Lakota Peter’s post on February 4, So my conclusion is that Windows Fax and Scan gets along with Canon scanners but not Lexmark and I will just have to live with my work around. If that doesn’t work, you might need to update the driver so that your scanner can work with this version of Windows.
Would the drivers for this be different than the drivers that Lexmark shows for my printer? In reply to Cameron O’s post on February 4, How satisfied are you with this reply?
I then worked with a Lexmark technician who connected to my computer and tried many different things to resolve the issue but was unsuccessful. This oro4000 is locked. Does the issue persist when you perform a scan of a particular document?
Sorry this didn’t help. In reply to Lakota Peter’s post on February 3, Lakota Peter Replied on February 4, I have reinstalled the driver from the original CD and the error message is still issued.
If a driver is not available or if you’ve updated the driver and still can’t select the scanner, find out if your scanner uses TWAIN technology.
